Receiving his first commercial work as a student (the theme tune for ITV’s Rally Cross), Lester has over 25 years’ experience writing music for drama, documentary and children’s TV shows.

Lester has scored over 650 kids’ shows including all 4 series (208 episodes) of Horrid Henry, CITV’s most successful title. It is extensively broadcast on ITV, worldwide TV, Netflix and available on DVDs. Horrid Henry has also appeared on film, theatre and CDs with music and songs by Lester.

Writing to picture and defining characters as popular as Horrid Henry (ITV), Claude (Disney Channel), Mama Mirabelle (BBC/National Geographic/PBS), Paz (USA), and Urmel (Germany) has earned Lester a BAFTA and 4 EMMY nominations, amongst other awards.

He has also written theme tunes and songs for many series including Fun with Claude, Me Too!, Mama Mirabelle’s Home Movies and Footy Pups. Released in 2015, presented by England and Arsenal footballer Rachel Yanky, Footy Pups is one of the most watched programmes on CBeebies and a second series is being produced.

Lester has recently written theme tunes and incidental music for other TV series including Classical Destinations, presented by Aled Jones.
